We have produced a handy downloadable and printable fan travel guide which includes all you need to know.
Arrival & Gates: Gates open 3 hours before kick-off. We recommend aiming to arrive in the stadium area when gates open to allow for security and to enjoy the atmosphere and gameday happenings.
Plan and book transportation now: Remember Boston Stadium is 60-90 minutes south of downtown Boston and 60 minutes north of Providence. Book your train, bus or parking now to avoid disappointment. We recommend taking public transportation if you can.
Enjoy the atmosphere: Why not get there extra early? Arriving when gates open will allow ticketholders to enjoy activations and entertainment within the stadium footprint.
Safety, Security and Public Health: The stadium enforces a strict clear bag policy. Approved bags include clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12″ x 12″ x 6″, one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags that do not exceed 11″ x 11″, and small wristlets or handheld wallets that do not exceed 6.5″ x 4.5″. In addition, fans should be aware of restrictions on other items and to be prepared to be searched on entry. See the links for further information on prohibited items in each of the 6 languages of the event (Arabic, English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish). Also please familiarize yourself with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts prevailing safety and security advice here and public health advice here.
Accommodation: There is plenty to see and do in this great city. If you haven’t secured a place to stay, book now!
There is a direct and frequent train service that requires advanced purchase only between Boston’s South Station and Foxboro Station (less than a10-minute walk to the stadium). This is a matchday only service and no other trains go to the stadium.
Note: Boarding times will be provided when you buy your ticket. Arrive in plenty of time at South Station and be prepared to wait in line as it is expected to be very busy.
This is Boston 26’s official direct bus service servicing the region to deliver ticketed spectators within a 10-minute walk of the matchday action:
Note: Aim to arrive no later than 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time to allow time for boarding.
Stadium Parking
Dedicated event parking at the stadium must be booked in advance; including for those with accessibility requirements. Allow extra time for getting to the Stadium as approaching roads are expected to be busy for up to 4 hours either side of the match.
The only access road to the Stadium is MA Route 1. If traveling from the north, MA Route 1 is accessible from I-95S (Exit 19). If travelling from the south, MA Route 1 is accessible from I-95N to I-495N (Exit 36A). Traffic restrictions will be in place on local roads before and after the match and it is possible your preferred mapping service may not give you the best travel options; please follow event road signs as you enter the area.
Some tips if you intend to travel by car:
Rideshare and taxis
Dedicated drop-off and pick-off areas will be available at the stadium. Rideshare and taxi services are solely responsible for providing these services and determine availability and cost. They are expected to be very busy, particularly after each match, so plan and book ahead now with your preferred operator.
Private coach, bus and other over-sized vehicles
There are no private vehicle drop-off or pick-up areas available at the stadium. Boston Stadium Express Bus (see section above) is the only service with event provided drop-off and pick-up facilities within the stadium area.
There is parking available for over-sized vehicles which match ticketholders must book in advance now here.
Please be sure to check with the operator of your service that these parking arrangements have been made in advance of traveling to the stadium on match day.
Remember, that Boston Stadium Express Bus (see section above) is Boston 26’s only official bus service with an event provided drop-off and pick-up area within the stadium area.
Visitors with mobility, sensory, cognitive, or other accessibility needs will find a wide range of services throughout the region, including accessible public transportation, adapted accommodations, and support services.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) operates low-floor buses, accessible subway stations, audio announcements, priority seating, and door-to-door paratransit services for those unable to use fixed-route transit. Wheelchair accessible taxis are also part of the general taxicab fleet in the City of Boston.

Boston Stadium is New England’s premier sports, entertainment, and event venue, highlighted by a signature 22-story lighthouse rising above the north end zone, the largest outdoor curved-radius videoboard at a sports venue in the country and more. The Lighthouse features a 360-degree observation deck known as the Lookout that offers panoramic views of the stadium and surrounding region, including the Boston skyline. Inspired by New England’s rich maritime heritage – home to more than 160 historic lighthouses, including Boston Light, the nation’s oldest continually used lighthouse – the structure serves as an iconic architectural landmark and experiential attraction.
Boston Stadium’s recent venue enhancements also include additional premium and fan gathering spaces, a reimagined fan plaza, upgraded luxury suites, new and improved bar and concession locations, increased restroom capacity, enhanced stadium connectivity and more.
